Little Red Riding Hood: Untold Story

This project is a "failed fairy tale" where instead of Little Red Riding hood getting eaten by the wolf she takes an axe and chops him up fashioning herself a beautiful wolf hat out of his fur. Then she proceeds to bring the basket of goodies to grandma. Below you can see my process for this project.

I always try and plan my projects out, but it never really works that way. I wish I was a successful planner, but unfortunately everything is always spontaneous as I work and things sort of happen as I go along.

Little Red says hi, creepy little bald child. For this puppet I discovered liquid latex and used it for the hands. They look creepy, but it works. I will get it right one of these days.

Here is my drawing of the hand drawn text for the book cover. I wanted it to have an elegant, but dark old fashioned feel since I was re creating a scene from an old story. Also here is the little basket I wove. For my first time weaving anything I caught on pretty fast and it only took me about 10 minutes to weave.

The left is just a low quality 1phone picture of the set up in my living room, not really an adequate studio, but hey it works. And on the right is my final image. I am really happy how this came out and I love how it looks like a hybrid of a photo and an illustration. Hoping to get better with my photography and editing in the future. Little steps though.
